20 September 2008Welcome To Loughborough
In his first week at the RDA, Luke will have gotten to explore the joys of student life for the first time. But what else happened whilst our man was out and about at the finest sports education establishment in the UK. We caught up with Luke after his time away.
"Loughborough was fantastic, what a great place to be! From arriving for the first tutorials on Monday to leaving town Friday night I didn’t get a moments rest. I have to say all of us drivers just clicked and the tutors are already sick to death of cars and motor racing. I've been grinning from ear to ear all week and haven't yet had a chance to pause for breath".
So here's how Luke's week broke down; Monday and Tuesday were mostly reserved for filling out the copious amounts of enrolment forms and paper work; but there was still time for fitness testing on Tuesday evening (we wonder how Luke got on). Come Wednesday it was time for lectures, Employability followed Industrial placement tutorials and in the afternoon there was a university library visit. All of the drivers headed out onto the town to sample Loughborough's finest student establishments and conducted themselves in a respectable manner no doubt! Thursday gave the drivers a chance to let off steam, so they headed off to Alton Towers for "team building"; but there's no rest for the wicked and Friday was spent in its entirety studying physics and fundamental race car design for 7 hours!
We will catch up with Luke next week after he has visited Silverstone.
