After a month or so since his last visit, Luke returned to the Silverstone Circuit in Northamptonshire to regroup with the RDA for sponsorship work and some track time. A two day schedule saw Luke work on his sponsorship presentation on Monday and develop some key strategies for how he could improve before a test day and Race Car Design workshop on Tuesday.

We spoke to Luke afterwards and were delighted to hear the good news that things have rapidly improved on track with his driving. Luke gave us all the details.

"Firstly, Monday was a great day, we had a few surprises from Seb (King) like visiting Hitech who run programmes in Formula 3, Formula Renault and the Superleague Formula where they operate the Liverpool and FC Porto cars. Then we moved onto the sponsorship work which I found really useful. After getting over the nerves it went better, as always there were things to be improved but I think that for the most part things are nearly there."

We are sure you will all agree that it is good news to hear things are progressing for Luke. Here's what he thought of his time on track.

"The cars were good to learn in, they were essentially Duratec Formula Fords but they had wings fitted to them exclusively for Silverstone. I found it interesting switching between several cars because they all had their own characteristics be it loose gearboxes, heavy brake pedals or just the way they handled. Firstly we were all given some track time to get used to the car; but then we progressed to cars with different set ups where we had to identify the changes and how this affected the way it drove. Finally we were given a car set up as we requested to see if we got that right. I have to say it was a good day and I learnt a lot, especially as I hope to move into Formula Ford for 2009."

There were a few surprises too, firstly, Luke got to drive a Focus ST with one of the instructors and secondly there was a low flying helicopter overhead in the dying laps of the Stowe circuit.

"It was funny really, the light was fading so we had only a few laps left and when I left the pit lane a helicopter came overhead. It was quite low and kept circling but it didn't really get to me, you just ignore these things when you are testing set ups because you have to drive consistently, more consistently than in a race even because it has to be a fair assessment of each change."

Well it sounds like Luke had a great time. Keep swinging by for more news soon...
