Luke started karting aged 10, when his dad, a former kart racer, bought him his first kart. Luke took to the new sport quickly and started competing a year later. In his first race he finished 10th, and his performances continued to grow. 2002 saw Luke move up a class into Mini Max, using a Birel chassis and finishing 3rd in 2 club championships and 21st in the British Championships. Recently, Luke achieved an unofficial lap record at his home circuit.

It is vital to relax and spend time with family and friends; but Luke also enjoys his fitness training which he says helps him to relax. To take a break from motor racing, Luke puts on a good movie or his games console. But he even uses this as training by playing racing games to help learn circuits and also to improve his reactions and vision.

Favourite music artists include Linkin Park, Fall Out Boy,  and Kanye West. Luke also watches a lot of films, regardingt Will Smith and Michael Caine as two of the greatest actors. As an active person, he has many hobbies; and enjoys football, rugby, cricket and fitness training.
